 On the occasion of the 7th annual IFAR Summit, the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) hosted 18 member organizations in Daejeon, South Korea from 27 to 29 September 2016.  The participants exchanged information on members´ aviation research focus areas, discussed collaborative activities with internal and external partners and considered issues of common interests.  In addition, the participants took part in a technical tour of the KARI facilities in Daejeon, gave an IFAR plenary lecture on air traffic management (ATM) related global challenges as a status of IFAR’s ATM Working Group activities at the 30th Congress of the International Council for Aeronautical Sciences, and met with the IFAR early careers networks (ECN) participants of the 4th IFAR Young Researcher’s Conference (YRC).

 

IFAR Young researchers Conference (YRC): Eleven young researchers from nine member organizations (NRC, NASA, CAE, TsAGI, KARI, JAXA, DLR, ONERA, INCAS) participated in the five-day YRC 2016. It was organized in parallel to the IFAR Summit and hosted by KARI. One of main themes was the development and introduction of the Early Carrer Network (ECN) proposal.
